Woodford and Wanstead Photographic Society welcomes all those with a passion for photography; amateur or professional, acknowledged artist or enthusiastic novice. We have a wide variety of photographic skill levels and everyone is willing to share their knowledge and learn from others.

Coming out of Lockdown and returning to “Normal” has more logistical complications than when we entered Lockdown – March 2020 saw us successfully move everything to Zoom as we had very little choice. Now, with restrictions lifting, many are eager to get back together as a club, however, we still need to respect every member’s view on whether they are ready to return to meeting in person or not. We also have pre-booked Zoom presentations/speakers and Competitions that we need to honour.

The Club is still committed to adhering to all Government guidelines and recommendations on Covid Restrictions and Social Distancing. Therefore, this new Club Year, October 2021 to September 2022 will see us following a mixture of Zoom Sessions for Presentations and Competitions, alternating with "Meet in Person" Socials and Practical Evenings at Wanstead House.

Members and visitors wishing to join a Zoom session will be emailed during the day with an invitation to join that evening’s session at around 19:30. Formal proceedings will commence promptly at 19:45. Members and known visitors will also be kept informed about Practical and Social evenings via our WhatsApp Group (or email for known visitors).

The WWPS committee is working to provide members with the best content it can. Please be aware that advertised events can be subject to change or cancellation. Where possible an alternative will be provided should this situation arise.

If you are not a current paid-up member and would like to join us, we are offering you the chance to attend three meetings for free. We would recommend that you choose varied nights, if possible, in order to experience a cross-section of our activities. Please understand that you will need to provide WWPS with an email address that we will keep on record and use to contact you. Information that you provide will be protected within our GDPR policy. We do not share your information with third parties.

We also offer new visitors/potential members a short one-to-one Zoom Session with our Membership Secretary, Jim Williams. He will be able to give you a quick run-down on how the Club operates and it will give you the opportunity to ask him anything you would like to know about the club.
